Share the energy of Awakening
There comes a time when we make things so hard for us that we fail to give ourselves a chance to bring out the best in us. Very often, we think nothing can take us where we want to go and we lie to everyone because its easy to dodge judgment and fit in. When I heard about the subject for our latest in-house college magazine, I wanted to write something that everybody would relate to. I am glad that the College Committee found it worthy for the 'Best Article' Award which has motivated me to keep writing. Happy to include it as one of my blog posts.
Awareness and Awakening
In the light of the on-going events, the
topic allotted is bound to open up many dimensions in a student’s mind. The way
I see it, Awareness and Awakening have two very different meanings and reaching
the state of awakening from being aware takes quite a lot out of a person. While
writing this article for the magazine, I formed a chain of thoughts, ideas,
recalled all things related and eventually a final copy to send it was produced;
so now I can say that this is my awakening and I hopefully pass it on.
Many of us are aware of a lot of things, bridging the gap from realizing
something to actually bringing out the change that we want to see is what it
takes to come out of our dormancy. The gap is a long road full of inhibitions
and stigma and many of us tend to lose the importance of reaching the
destination. Be it your own personal goal of being an entrepreneur and marching
towards it or the inauguration of a new President and organizing a Women’s
March in protest of it. We all dream and seldom resist the change that comes in
the way of realizing them. Many a times, we have full knowledge of the
situation but are lost in the road to reversing it. The trick lies in carrying
the fire and letting it diffuse until there is a stir.
People of the United
States of America have openly expressed their emotions after the announcement
of the new President; they are full aware of the implications and participating
in the Women’s March on Washington was the evidence of their awakening. It was
the biggest protest sending out a bold message that women’s rights are human
rights. The goal was to resist the political views and changes that hamper
their rights which is a call for all the people who are aware but fail to wake
up.
Most of us end up aligning ourselves
to societal norms and fail to realize what is more important to us. It is about
setting your goals in line with the highest values you hold and side-lining the
values that we cannot be best at; very similar to the ABC analysis used in
categorizing the worth of materials. When we live with the highest of the terms
without settling for anything lesser than what we dreamed of is the time when
you have awakened your true self.
We might feel like a destined
entrepreneur like Steve Jobs and Elon Musk or dedicate your life to art and
charity or inspired to live a life of a yogi; whatever it may be, when you
awaken your inner-self holding all your
best assets, you are on the path to creating something inspirational and self-satisfying.
We have to fill those voids after being aware which only we can find out.
It only takes that
one step to stir up a march from awareness to rousing, sure it is a rocky road with
great inertia and full of risks but the biggest guaranteed risk is not taking
risk. In the world that is changing every second, one cannot afford to go with
the flow and be inert. You have to exert force and break the bonds to share the
energy of awakening.Much like I attempt to do it through this article.
